Contribute to disaster prevention by subsurface simulation
Geoscience Research Laboratory, Co., Ltd.(Geolab) is an expert in numerical simulation of subsurface geological environment, contributing to investigation and decision-making in planning measures in the field of construction disaster prevention, earthquake disaster prevention, slope disaster prevention, and subsurface environmental protection. Geolab's simulation features 3D geological models, which are used to predict ground deformation during tunnel excavation, evaluate the possibility of liquefaction during earthquakes, and predict changes in groundwater flow due to heavy rainfall.
Geolab also develops and sells software for the simulations. Geo-Graphia®, for instance, seamlessly handles 3D geological modelling to mesh generation for analyses and visualization of the analysis results.
Furthermore, Geolab delivers multi-disciplinary technology that utilizes advanced technology to solve subsurface engineering issues, such as cloud-based seismic monitoring of buildings, estimation of ground deformation by combining SAR satellite data and inverse analysis, and risk assessment of slope failures using AI.
