The 2nd Japan India Workshop for DRR was held. 23 people in 9 JBP member companies attended.

The Indian delegation was lead by Dr. P.K. Mishura, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister and Mr. Junzo Yamamoto, Minister of State for Disaster Management, gave the opening speach. The total number of participants was 68, 15 from Indian side and 53 from Japan side including 23 from JBP.


This workshop focuses on the training for DRR and the earthquake early warning system and the knowledge and experiences were shared by both sides. In addition, the Japan side shared the lessons of the Western Japan heavy rain disaster occured this July.

As the theme given to JBP was Earthquake early warning system, the follwoing four member companies in the standardization working group of the earthquake senser classification.
1)Challenge Co., Ltd.: for Region, Alarm
2)Meisei Electric Co., Ltd.: for Region, Information collection
3)OYO Corporation: for Facility, Robust monitoring
4)IMV Corporation: for Facility, Emergency shutdow


In the evening, JBP organized the welcome reception at Hoso Kaikan.
All 15 members of the Indian delegation
together with the Indian Ambassador to Japan attended and Mr. Kaibori, Director General of Disaster Management Bureau, attended also.
Mr. Hiro Nishiguchi, President of JBP, on behalf of 30 participants from JBP member companies gave the opening welcome speech and all participants enjoyed the reception.
