NEWJEC Inc., having a corporate policy of "contributing society through distinguished technology", was established in 1963 as an integrated engineering consulting firm for providing engineering services of survey, planning, designing and construction management for social infrastructure development. NEWJEC celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. . Since its establishment, social and economic situations in Japan have drastically changed in such aspects as globalization, global environmental issues, aging population with low birthrate and associated depopulation, remarkable innovation of information & communication technology and so on. NEWJEC is continuing to provide solutions with advanced technologies in response to such changes.
There are increased risks on water related disasters such as Tsunami caused by a large-scale earthquake and flood and high tide caused by climate change in the world. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake 2011, NEWJEC has been engaged reconstruction projects in the earthquake-affected areas and providing sophisticated engineering services on prevention and mitigation of natural disaster with a spirit of “Build Back Better”. NEWJEC also has experiences of providing a diversity of technical services on flood management project in Lao P.D.R. and Kenya. In addition, dam engineering expertise nurtured in water resources and hydropower projects is one of core technologies of NEWJEC, which shall be applicable to disaster risk reduction of various hydraulic structures.
NEWJEC is eager to promote disaster prevention and mitigation technologies fostered in Japan and other countries in the form of both structural and non-structural measures, in countries all over the world.
