Publication of the First "International Handbook on Emergency Management for Flood Defences" through Collaboration between Japan, the U.S., the U.K., and the Netherlands: Volunteer Contributions by JBP Secretariat and Yachiyo Engineering

On December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, in cooperation with 71 stakeholders from academia, private-sector, and government across 12 countries—including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands—released the first-ever International Flood Defense Handbook. This landmark publication showcases the flood defense technologies and practices of participating countries, making it the first global document of its kind.
The Japan Bosai Platform (JBP) Secretariat and JBP member Yachiyo Engineering contributed to this project as volunteers, assisting with publishing tasks such as layout design and PDF formatting.
