Our goal is to enable people around the world to interpret changes in the weather and protect themselves from weather-related disasters by fostering a better understanding of meteorology, supporting human resource development, and providing grants to researchers.

　Our foundation was established by Hiroyoshi Ishibashi, the founder of Weathernews Inc., with the aim of contributing to the development of a "WxBUNKA(weather culture)" by supporting the enhancement of weather literacy and the advancement of forecasting technologies in the Asia-Pacific region.
Our activities include providing grants to individuals engaged in practical weather-related research and initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as organizing events to cultivate future weather technology professionals—such as weather observation equipment contests for high school and technical college students, satellite data analysis competitions for university students, and weather marketing seminars. We also utilize the former Antarctic research vessel *SHIRASE 5002* as a hub for networking among those involved in these fields, and we conduct activities aimed at mitigating the impact of the increasingly frequent weather-related disasters of recent years.
